A PLAY, A PINT & A PASTY
Moveable Type Theatre Company is excited to bring back a new season of A Play, A Pint and A Pasty.
BLACK PILL & PATERNITY
The first show in our Autumn Season is an exploration of the seductive power of incel culture, its violence and misogyny, and a possible way out.
In Black Pill and Paternity by Marika Mckennell, two young men meet online, they find themselves hounded by their histories and tied together by a single tragic event. As they grapple with a culture that tells them to hate and resent, can they find redemption in their connection to each other?
We are extremely excited to premiere this new piece of writing by Marika. Her work amplifies voices from the margins, bringing characters and stories from the periphery to the fore, with empathy, care and humour. She is a member of the 2023-24 BBC Drama Writers Room. Her previous work has been performed at Edinburgh Festival (her play E8 won a Fringe First), Camden People’s Theatre, the Roundhouse London and the North Wall Oxford.
