We are looking for new short plays on the subject of drinking and drinking cultures.

We are presenting an anthology of short new plays ‘We Only Want To Get Drunk’ to mark 20 years since 24-hour drinking in pubs became legal in England and Wales. We are looking for pieces that are 20 minutes or less with 3 performers or less.

We want the cycle of plays to examine drinking and booze from a range of angles; from the intoxicating joy to the dislocating toxicity. We want plays populated with characters who work with alcohol, drink it, or reject it. We’re not producing a polemical on the ‘problem’ with alcohol but more an insight into what and why it is central to so much  of British culture.

If selected, your piece will be directed and performed at the Barrel House Ballroom, Totnes and Barbican Theatre, Plymouth as part of our ‘A Play, A Pint & A Pasty’ season.
